Summer 2010 Diary (Bike 2010)

Niko and I went to breakfast at 10:30am. I spent the morning listening to children in the nearby park and the churchbells rining.

We had an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet near Mona Lisa in the same square that I saw the jazz band.

We strolled around, lain in a park. Evetually I took at train back and went to the property again.

They packed and went for the kayak journey.

Then my host and his wife with the two children (from his sisters) and I ate pizza.

We then watched Holland and Spain play in the finals. What a LONG match!

Congratulation Spain!

Today I went to the markets in Svenborg, chatted to Dad on the way. Then I roamed the pedestrian zones for a little, before I went home on the HOT day to drop my things off.

I then cycled to Svendborg, took a train to Odense and went on my first Danish date.

Niko and I went around the city, only chatting. Then we went to the Australian Bar to watch the Germany and Uraguay game. GO GERMAY!!!

The bar was awesome, filled with the Australian Language and things that you see in Australia as a whole!

Then we went to a cafe. Afterwards, I went to a Pre Beach Party all-gay-event. After five shots and four cocktails, I went to Nikos house for a sleep. (4:30am)

I went to a little island Skarø, where they make their own Ice cream. they grow the sugar and milk the cows all organically. The fruit is also grown on Strynø.

The only reason I went to the island is for the ice cream. Overall the island is boring. From that experience, I scrapped my pland to go to Drejø. So I went back to Svendborg and to the library instead.

This was a nice trip. The day was warm and I saw nice sights. Ærø is a great island, but Ærøskøbing is FANTASTIK!!! It is like Ribe and Ebeltoft!

I went to Svendborg and then cycled out of the city to my next hosts. This property is amazing! Although I thought that I wound up with a bunch of hippies, it turns out that it is a small community of 6 permanant residance and the soming and going of friends, family and travellers.

I am impressed with the love in the house, the chickens (including their pet, Matilda), the vegie garden, the way they make bread and use only organic products. No TV. But great music. Now seven of them are KAYAKING around Bonholm for a week!!!

This night we just ate pizza and chatted.

While I was in Fåborg, I took the boat accross to the little islands Fyø and Avernakø. Fyø was better then Avernakø. Both without someone to be with are a little boing, but are quant.

I can back and used the library, and then met up eith Pernille for dinner.

The goal was to see Egeskov Slott. I cycled over Fyn, and enjoyed the senery. To go in and SEE the castle, one must pay 195DDK. Not at all.

So, I had a rest and continued to Fårborg. I met up with my CS host Pernille. She and her friend took me on a little walk along the shore and into the city.

We then enjoyed good conversation and a good dinner.

Great day to cycle.

Cycled over Kerteminde to Nyborg.
Stayed with Maja and Steven. LEARNT TONNES ABOUT EUROPE!

Had a nice afternoon with them both. Did a city tour and we stayed up chatting about history and politics of Europe. The best converstation i have had to date!

Did the whole Odense City Tour thing.

Hans C Andersen house.

Ate lunch at Mona Lisa and listen to life jazz with out singing.

Went to the harbour.

Watched TV and chilled out.

Randi convinced me to stay the morning.

Hung out and went on a tour.

Cycled to Odense.

Stopped at Middlefart - he he.

Watch WM with my next CS host, Jonas

TOTALLY WARM.

The trip to Fredericia was broken up into stages.

To Nordborg, the ferry Hardeshjør, lunch at Åbenrå, Hardeslev, snoozing on the way to Kolding, Ice Cream outside of Fredericia and Fredericia. My host Randi was nice.

We went to the jazz festival and hung out.

The trip across Denmakr was great. No wind. Warm but to too bad.

I arrived in Sønderborg - one word: AMAZING! It is a well preserved town that prides itself on its harbour, old castle, old wind mill and pedestrian walk ways.

Met up with Kris' wife, my next host.

Marcus convinced me to stay another night.

We managed to play that game again and watch The Last Hippie Standing - awesome flick.

Listened to music.

Went to the largest beach in Europe - 4km wide!

Cycled early towards Rømø.

Very tired.

Ribe was fantastic.

Met Marcus from Germany and we had many conversations in German-Danish.

Was introduced to a board game Cassanance - or something like that.

We listened to Peter Foxx and got a little high.

Long, warm, sun burt, hot, long day.
